Low Muscle Tone (Hypotonia)
Has your baby been diagnosed with low muscle tone?
Low muscle tone, or hypotonia, is a state of reduced tension or resistance in resting muscles, making them feel more relaxed or "floppy". It is not the same as muscle weakness, though they can coexist. It often causes delayed motor milestones, poor posture, increased joint flexibility, and faster fatigue with mobility.
Whether the underlying cause is known or unknown, hypotonia shouldn't keep your child from exploring. Pediatric PT helps build the strength and stability needed to help your child move with confidence and thrive in their daily activities.
Navigating Developmental Delays
Every child develops at their own pace, but when motor milestones significantly delayed or missed it can interfere with a child's ability to explore and learn.
Whether a developmental delay stems from an underlying medical condition or is currently due to an unknown reason, pediatric physical therapy is a powerful tool to bridge the gap.
We focus on building the functional skills and core strength needed so your little one can explore their world, gain independence, and truly thrive.
